DAVID M. BENNETT


Mr. Bennett is an Equity Partner with the Law Offices of Pretzel & Stouffer, in Chicago, Illinois. His practice is dedicated to representing businesses and individuals in complex civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis in representing theme parks, family entertainment centers, recreational centers, schools and universities as well as the defense of cases involving premises liability and construction litigation throughout Illinois.

Mr. Bennett received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in 1986. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in May, 1989. He was admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in November, 1989. Mr. Bennett joined Pretzel & Stouffer in 1989 and was elected partner in January, 1996. He has extensive experience in the preparation and trial of personal injury cases and has tried numerous jury trials, bench trials and arbitration hearings throughout the Chicagoland area and surrounding counties. He is an approved attorney representing clients on behalf of many insurance companies.

Mr. Bennett is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC), 2001 to present. Mr. Bennett is a member of the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association (IALDA) and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). He also serves as a certified arbitrator for the Cook County Arbitration Program in Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Bennett is a frequent speaker at conventions and seminars throughout the United States on topics ranging from risk management guidelines, deposition advice to witnesses and mock trial presentations. He has recently been a speaker at the AIMS International Safety Seminars, IAAPA Conventions, RSA Conventions and Trial Tactics Seminars sponsored by the IDC in Illinois.
