
QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP
I. ELECTION TO MEMBERSHIP
Election to membership in the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association
will be by vote of the Membership Committee.
II. ACTIVE MEMBERS
Individuals are eligible for active membership as follows:
A. An attorney in private practice must be a member of the Bar of the Court of Last
Resort in his or her state for at least five years prior to membership or have
equivalent legal experience in the judgement of the Membership Committee.
A member of the Bar must devote a substantial amount of his or her professional
time to the representation or defense of amusement and leisure businesses either
directly or through an insurance company or association. Be of high
professional standing and of good character.
B. A corporate or house counsel must be an attorney who serves as counsel to or for
a company involved in the amusement and leisure industries and his or her responsibilities
for the legal affairs of that company are such that membership would
enable him or her to make a substantial contribution to the IALDA. The
corporate or house counsel shall devote a substantial amount of his or her professional
time to the amusement and leisure industries or their insurers.
Be of high professional standing and of good character.
III. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
A. Associate members are those who do not otherwise qualify as active members as set
forth in paragraph II above.
B. Insurance company executives who are full-time employees of an insurance company
or association are eligible for membership in the IALDA provided that their duties
have included substantial responsibility for relationships with legal and
trial counsel.
C. Associate members shall devote a substantial amount of their professional time
to the defense, administration, adjustment or investigation of legal matters involving
amusement and leisure industries.
D. Associate members shall have all the rights and privileges of active members except
the right to vote.
