Lary I. Zucker is a Shareholder in Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin, a regional defense
litigation firm with offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio and Florida. Mr. Zucker is a
founding member of IALDA and served as President of the Association from 1997 to 1999.
Mr. Zucker has more than three decades of experience representing clients in the amusement industry.
He is Counsel to the New Jersey Amusement Association and served on the IAAPA Governmental
Relations Committee. He is a member of the Risk Management and Insurance Committee of the Roller
Skating Association International and is also an active member of IAAPA, NAARSO, OABA and the
ASTM F24.24 Committees.
He has handled a variety of litigation matters and has tried cases for theme parks, amusement parks,
carnivals, water parks, roller skating rinks, ice skating rinks, go-kart tracks, ski areas, family
entertainment centers, inflatable operators, amusement ride manufacturers, major league baseball
teams, professional football teams and numerous fairs, arenas and concert venues. Mr. Zucker also has
experience in the areas of product liability, liquor liability, sexual harassment, employment
discrimination and complex commercial litigation.
Legislative and regulatory matters involving the amusement industry have also been a focus of his
practice. He served as Legislative Counsel to the Honorable Matthew Feldman, Majority Leader of the
New Jersey Senate from 1972 to 1976. He contributed to rider responsibility laws and the recent
amendments to the New Jersey Carnival-Amusement Ride Safety Act and the implementing regulations.
Mr. Zucker has a special interest in risk management and insurance issues involving the amusement
industry. He was co-author of the Rink Management Guidelines adopted by the Roller Skating
Association and contributed to the Risk Management Guidelines adopted by the Bowling Proprietor's
Association of America (BPAA).
Mr. Zucker teaches and writes on accident investigation and risk management in sports, amusement
and entertainment venues. In conjunction with IALDA, he has presented seminars and mock trials at
insurance companies and at amusement industry trade shows and conventions. His articles have
appeared in Amusement Business, Fun World, Roller Skating Business, Inflatable News, Rinksider,
Right Track, The New Jersey Amusement Association Newsletter and the IAAPA Carousels of
Capitals.
Mr. Zucker joined Marshall, Dennehey as a Shareholder in 2003. He co-chairs the firm's sports,
amusement and recreation group which has a national reputation in this area of practice.
Mr. Zucker is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme
Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States
Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts in New
Jersey where he has been designated a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New
Jersey. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the
Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Associations.
